I have a few different times that I've been remembering, one of which took place during the first movie in 2002. We were shooting in Miami, Florida, over Easter weekend and Dunn's sister and brother-in-law lived in the area. Dunn asked me if I wanted to get away from all the chaos and go have a good meal with some of his family. We drove a cargo van out to his sister's house. On the ride there, he was telling me how his brother-in-law did ice sculpting. The conversation about Easter dinner got brought up and Ryan realized the whole crew and guys would be there, so he asked his brother-in-law to do an ice statue for our dinner table that coming Sunday night. It was a fantastic statue of a bunny with a big boner. People walking by our table in South Beach were loving it. That’s the way Ryan was, he thought about others and just wanted to bring a smile to your face.
Another thing I wanted to mention was how he would make you feel totally equal to him and how he would include even the new dude into the night's festivities after work. Once, when we were still shooting the TV show, a small group of us went to West Chester to do some shooting. This was my first trip with jackass, and Ryan definitely made me feel welcome by giving me poo fingers up the nose on the first night. I smelt his poo for three days! That smell will be the only thing I won't miss about Ryan.
All I know is he's gonna have the upper hand on all of us when we go to heaven. So at least we know that when we get there we'll have a friend ready to do something muffed up to us or just buy us a drink.
I met Ryan a few years ago, but it wasn’t until production started on jackass 3 that I really got the pleasure of knowing him. He was such a stand up guy. I will be grateful to him for making me feel like he was my friend and for always being willing to put on the absurd outfits that I would greet him with in the mornings. He made the BEST angry ducky in the world.
Ryan, thank you for being my friend.
