Every once in a while—no, make that quite often—Spike Jonze will disappear down the rabbit hole only to emerge months later with these incredibly creative little gems. Witness his latest, Mourir Auprès de Toi (To Die By Your Side), a joint collaboration with designer Olympia Le-Tan. Rarely do I hop on a soap box—mostly because I tend to slip and land square on my bony ass cheek—but this short should remind the whole of humanity to support local antiquarian book shops. Nothing beats the sensorial sensation experienced when one enters said shop ... the door creak, the equally creaky floorboards, the visual eye candy of covers galore, and the sheer must and dust of it all. Plus, without fail, within just a few minutes of getting lost in the literary browse I really have to poop, making it the absolute best laxative I know.

Incredible!

Wow, very cool! (There was a really, really old Looney Tunes cartoon ~ possibly from the Thirties ~ that had a similar concept, and it always creeped me out... Only then it wouldn't have been an antique book shop; more like the equivalent of a Barnes & Noble, probably... Oy...) Good job, Spike (and you make a very sexy Macbeth)!

Of course Matthews tihnks WP is an Enemy Camp . Even the janitors employed there are more American than he will ever be and his jealousy bubbles to the surface as easy as percolating coffee. You know what would give me a thrill up my leg, Chris? If I could slap you about the head and shoulders with an olive loaf while Maddow serves me a fine Italian Pinot Grigio and Olbermann writes public apology letters to the US from MSNBC for being such a suck-up to the Socialist we now have as POTUS. Yes, that would make me very happy.Long Live the Republic.

Tilman,As a real fanboy with a cocoilteln of some most excellent comics who cut his teeth on Bronze Age Marvel, I am very happy to see you posted this trailer for IM2.Marvel has been putting out some decent movies recently, and this one looks to be every bit as awesome as the first IM.As to the query about Stark being a jackass in the comics Well, it's complicated. He's not as sterling of a guy as people would assume, let's just say that.See ya at the Multi-Plex! Popcorn, Pepsi, Twizzlers, and of course bubble gum, are all on me, my treat.

Posted on Oh, I can't stop laughing! That is one of the funneist things I have seen in a looong time! It really IS kinda creepy except for the babies being so beautiful.I can't imagine either of my girls ever being content to lie under a giant roasted turkey. Wow.

Posted on This brings a smile to my face. When I was a child I had a book of prtcejos and one was to carve a face into an apple and then you sit out and it shrivels up. It kind of looked like these stocking dolls. Thanks for the memory :)
