day of the leap us

Far be it from me and my near piss-poor memory to miss a ticklish day as today, so today you get two posts for the price of none. In celebratory accordance, I dove into the infamous Dickhouse photo vault and, straight off the top of my dome piece, retrieved a few "special" leaps from our illustrious past...

The first, from the rainbow bright bay of jackass 3D, is an anomaly to be sure. It's a general rule of thumb that white men can't jump, but I'll be damned if Johnny Knoxville isn't one day able to leap onto Broadway or, worst case, the Icecapades. There are at least 1000 other words this photo is saying and you'd have to be deaf, dumb and blind not to understand them.

Next up we have the Wildboyz (Chris Pontius and Steve-O) with Wildguestz (Knoxville and Loomis Fall) in Moscow, Russia, circa 2005, where onion architecture sightseeing is the equivalent to buying a Toyota. What a feeling indeed.

Lastly and most leaply, it's Rick Kosick and myself giving it our all in defiance of gravity on the Hollywood set of jackass number two in 2006. Big ups come in small packages and, if you've a thing for hot-blooded Latin, vice versa.

The other day while digging around for a clear shot of Erik Roner's tramp stamp, I happened across this image I'd thought lost in the great laptop theft of 2010 and it gladdens me to no end that it still exists. Seriously, they could discover Atlantis tomorrow and I wouldn't be anywhere near as happy as I am now. Yeah, gill people, whee. Whatever. If they were so damn suave and Patrick Duffy then how'd they go and lose their whole stupid continent for all these millennia? Bunch of aqua dumb-dumbs, if you ask me. Not like these guys, Jeff Tremaine and Erik Roner, and their mouth-breathing hard bodies (and, yes, that soft rumble you just heard was about 15 guys in the Eagle LA bar going "Grrrr..."). Anyway, this is what happens when you film for the Nitro Circus television show at Ken Block's* DC Mountain Lab in Park City, Utah, and he brings in a catered sushi dinner and loads of adult beverages to celebrate a long, cold day of slope abuse. Pure ping-pong synchronicity with a Bizarro body twist shaken not slurred.

erik roner's "roner vision"

 

There aren't many men who are man enough to pull off a tramp stamp, but when it's someone like Erik Roner ... well, you kind of have to give him a hall pass. We all do silly things, even though they may seem serious at the time, but the guy has done more gnarly things than you can ever begin to imagine and is just as nice as can be. Not at all like the variety of extreme dickhead typically seen (and unfortunately spotlighted) in the early days of the Extreme/X-Games—you know, those kayak bungeeing, sky surfing, street luging, self-described adrenalin junkies. Thank god that laughable chaff got separated from the wheat with the Darwinian quickness. Anyway, Erik's been putting together these little "Roner Vision" videos from his various adventures. This particular one is from the last day of shooting on the forthcoming Nitro Circus 3D flick, but there's a whole series of them to plow through if you've got the time to span.

Believe that high blood pressure is just another code word for getting baked? Think cholesterol sounds like some back-alley sewer moonshine circa the 1300s? Sounds like you could use a quick pick me up of Nitro Circus Season One and Season 2 on DVD.

So it's not supper and no one is invited to lunch, but as promised yesterday here is the official Loiter Squad super launch trailer. If you're just tuning into this Dickhouse news topic for the first time, Loiter Squad is the all-new show featuring Tyler, Jasper, Taco, and Lionel from Odd Future and it's coming to Adult Swim on Sunday, March 25th, at 11:30pm ET/PT. Now if you'll excuse me, I've got a mean hankering for a dolphin blowhole to attend to.

For now this is just another drop of excess moisture from the dewy Dickhouse production offices in Hollywood, California. But tomorrow... we lunch! And it will be supper! Especially if your name is Trip Taylor. Nirto forever!

on this day in jackass history...

Dateline—February 24, 2008: Much like the 'Nam, we were trudging shit deep through the night and into the butt-cold early morning dawn during the jackass(world) 24-hour takeover of the MTV studios in New York City. In fact, at this very moment we might have been shivering outside while chowing down on April Margera's pancakes. Or maybe we were sweating it out with Chris Pontius during his manly workout symposium. Whatever the case, we'd lost Steve-O, were on the verge of losing Bam Margera, and dance parties were soon to be the delirious rage as we stumbled toward Hour 24 and the finish line.

We came out of the gate hot and hard—so hard—at noon the previous day. Party Boy had run through streets with several more partyin' boys in tow; Danger Ehren had his hair prematurely ripped out during a Nair cut; Steve-O did his best Ali Boo-boo impression as the "Sultan of Soda" and then later rapped to the terror of many; Bam and Phil Margera went toe-to-toe in weenie feeding; Rick Kosick zapped the cat-walking shit out of Danger Ehren during a spelling bee; Dave England spent life in a cage as a menace to society; Wee Man spent life in a hot dog cart as a menace to society; Preston Lacy was without a doubt the biggest loser when it came to drawing the short bus card in a horrible tattoo game; Jeff Tremaine not only got an earfull of Bronx bum shit but had his ass handed to him in a late-night round of "Dizzy Boxing" with Kosick; and Johnny Knoxville underwent wardrobe change after wardrobe change as he gingerly danced the night away during one of many music video wake-up stints.

Numerous friends dropped by for the sleepover, including Mat Hoffman, Loomis Fall, Scott Manning, Dale Watson, Manny Puig, the Lakai team, Zach Galifianakis, Maximillion "Mr. Gumball" Cooper, and a host of stunty participants, big and small, during the world broadcast debut of Mat Hoffman's Tribute to Evel Knievel (and Knoxville's torn urethra!).

All of this and more now sits locked in a vault somewhere. Perhaps clues to its second coming are buried in the Book of Revelations under a pile of reckoning shit about armageddon, a beast, and 666 other prophesies that couldn't have been more unclear and open to wide misinterpretation, but don't bet on it. There is a highlight show that still sees the occasional late-night rotation within the MTV sect, so enjoy it while it lasts, alright*?

* A musical bone for those who know.

(Okay, even I don't know where to go from there, so let's just hit the peas and carrots of this post while I attempt to extract my dick from yet another verbal bowl of mashed potatoes: Loiter Squad, the latest in Dickhouse production joints, premieres on Adult Swim March 25th at 11:30pm ET/PT.) That's something real special for all our comrades out there, but for the rest of the fanny world here you go: "Happy Birthday, Dimitry Elyashkevich!"

Similar to anywhere else in the cubicle universe, I suppose, there's a birthday tradition within the Dickhouse production offices—well, there's actually two traditions, the other being a cake of exceedingly ill repute—that involves the ritual "passing of the card" in which everyone writes something foul, derogatory, sarcastic, or marginally to overtly well-wishing (the latter typically from the straighter-laced accountant) on a birthday card that is slipped person to person in a Manila cloak 'n' dagger fashion.

I always took these opportunities to doodle a penis of some sort, be it erect or flaccid, horse balls or squirrel nuts, with or without fluids, et or al, but since I'm no longer desk-jockeying in Los Angeles there have been no such things drawn.

So, in honor of Dimitry, I'm leaving one here just for him. I miss you, buddy, and I hope your birthday is totally turgid.

P.S. The reason this particular peniscrawl bears a striking resemblance to the one once branded on Bam's ass in jackass number two is because I designed that mini-hard dick as well. Just another proud peacock feather in my cap ... too bad it didn't stick around on his butt for as long as it was hoped.

I just don't know what to say anymore. The word "first" has lost all definable meaning to me. In fact, the next time I enter a contest and take second or third place, I'm going to claim I took first and call it a Blue Ribbon day. Apparently this must be some type of new jack Rambo-marketing speak where you can have two or three "firsts" before you reboot and chop heads off with video game-like abandon (or, in George Lucas's case, pull your pants down and blast digital diarrhea all over a perfectly fine trilogy). All that said for no particular reason whatsoever, here's another "first look" teaser to the forthcoming all-new Adult Swim show Loiter Squad, featuring the Odd Future crew (season premieres March 25th at 11:30pm ET/PT).

Yeah, I know what you're thinking. "But what was that video yesterday, wouldn't that qualify as a 'first look'?" Yes and no, depending how you look at it through the rosy glasses of an Interweb marketeer. So, whatever, all's fair in viral hopes and farts, just consider the former a driblet and this to be a full on tinkle of what to expect from Loiter Squad when it premieres March 25th at 11:30pm ET/PT on Adult Swim. Remember: Don't cross the streams. Bad. Very bad. Unless a sailor is in town, in which case BOARD ME NOW!

fat tuesday

Nail on the head? Too on the nose? Whatever. It is what it is and only a bitch like Popeye would whinge otherwise. But it's a celebratory day like today that stirs the old memory pot of Mardi Gras gone by—specifically the great liver blow out of 1995, when the Big Brother skateboard magazine staff wrangled an odd fucking assortment of professional skaters, threw them into two mini-vans and a 1993 Honda Civic Si hatchback, and left a trail of dead brain cells all along Interstate 10 from Los Angeles, California, to New Orleans, Louisiana. Things came to a big white pimple head on Fat Tuesday, if I'm not mistaken, the night that Rob Dyrdek and Steve Berra came to real life physical blows in the driveway outside our rental apartment in Metairie, and Jeff Tremaine later yelled "Harley down!" outside a bar on the outskirts of the French Quarter to kickstart all our hearts as we raced into the night fearing for our lives—all of which may or may not be covered in a possibly forthcoming documemoir about the stupid life and times of Big Brother magazine and the way we were (but not directed by Sydney Pollack).

P.S. Look forward to seeing this photo of Preston Lacy again come Octöberfest when my own padded brain cells neglect to remember it was already used once before and then some.

Last year, we mentioned that Odd Future and Dickhouse were teaming up on a new show called Loiter Squad in 2012, and, well, it's 2012, so, as promised, it's comma, comma, coming to the Adult Swim on March 25th at 11:30pm ET/PT. Need something more to depend on? Here's some urine leaked on the Interweb yesterday:

That apostrophe looks rather silly up there, doesn't it? Stupid possessive punctuation symbol. Anyway, here's a little known factoid about sexiest man in rock Loomis Fall: he can recite the names of all the Presidents of the United States of America from George Washington on up and not miss a single Zachary Taylor or James A. Garfield. Pretty neat, huh? Compound that with his equally impeccable knowledge of the Periodic Table of Elements and he's just the type of guy you want to have on your team for the world's largest trivia contest held in Stevens Point, Wisconsin, where the 54-hour competition has been grinding it out annually ever since 1969. For instance, that Louisville Slugger baseball bat that Wendy Torrance takes upside to her nutty husband Jack's head in The Shining? It's a Carl Yastrzemski signature model—just to give you an idea of one of 428 regulation questions that may be asked over the weekend of all-out trivia-induced sleep deprivation (this year's contest takes place April 20-22, details here).

photo of the day: the wee bar brawl players

I may not subscribe to any particular religious philosophy, but I'm definitely down with the word according to Repo Man (1984). No other movie in the history of cinema has ever explained the workings of the world so well and the plate of shrimp upon which we all cosmically feast. Certain things were also illuminated regarding the bedroom practices of John Wayne, but for now I'm mostly focused on the lattice of coincidence that surrounds and connects us all, much like The Force.

Take, for example, our primary wee bar antagonist, Puppet. He was recommended, along with several other li'l thugs and coppers, by our longtime producer dude Trip Taylor, who worked with them on the first season of Half Pint Brawlers on Spike TV.

Now we didn't realize it at the time—it was only after I was having Volney Howard IV assist me in converting a rare "director's cut" of the Big Brother skateboard video number two (1998) from VHS to DVD in December 2010—but we had actually used a song by Puppet called "Belly Roll" from when he was performing in D&G Kore* in the '90s. Understand that we had absolutely no idea at all who he was then. A promotional VHS tape of "Belly Roll" somehow made it into the Big Brother mail bag and that was the extent of our interaction. So, twelve years later, wonder of wonders, our paths crossed in a more decided fashion on jackass 3D by 100-percent pure coincidence. How's that for a great big cosmic plate of all you can eat Las Vegas shrimp?

Miller was the prophet. I am the disciple. And in Repo Man we trust.

* D&G Kore is short—ha!—for David & Goliath, or Dwarf & Giant, seeing as his partner in music and the belly in "Belly Roll", Scotty Sixes, stood 6-foot 6-inches, as compared to Puppet's 4-foot 4-inches.
