In marketing circles this is a very shat upon thing I am doing right now. For one, America is believed and babied to be a nation of ADHD chowderheads, and as such it makes absolutely no marketing sense whatsoever to promote something that airs on Adult Swim this coming Sunday at 11:30pm ET/PT when it's only freakin' Friday. Nonetheless, that's what I'm doing, because I'm giving you, the believed-to-be ADHD chowderhead, the benefit of the doubt that you'll be able to remember to watch an all-new episode of Loiter Squad over 50 some odd hours from now and not be distracted by any butterfly swarms or gutters full of shiny pennies between now and then. You can do this. I believe in you. I also believe in little green men, Australian drop bears, and dildoes molded in the shape of mythological beast penises, but that's beside the point.

I'm no fetishist by any stretch of the latex rubber jockey shorts, but I'll be damned if I don't get off on thumping a good thematical stump. Yesterday we played words by friends, but today it's going to be music by friends—The Deadly Syndrome, to be precise. You may remember bits and pieces and songs of theirs from such jackass fare as the 24-Hour Takeover, jackassworld.rip and Rick Kosick's 4:20-ish live show, a certain sweaty ambiance in jackass 3D, and trampoline tra-la-las in jackass 3.5. How did they wind up in all these sweet spots? Well, two of the members—Crash Richard and Jesse Hoy—have consistently worked on most all of these productions and other Dickhouse joints since 2006-ish and we're all about what's in the pocket. Anyway, because what would a daily post be without such abrupt seque, The Deadly Syndrome has a new album coming out soon entitled All In Time, at which time we'll post up its availability with all pertinent links and such. expiration date... your time is running out

Despite what you may think at times while watching the beautiful hot mess that is jackass there really are some competent people working behind-the-scenes. Actually, the further you get behind-the-scenes the more competent and accomplished they are. Today, let's spotlight one such individual who toiled hard—so hard—in the office trenches day in and day out. His name is Robert Zappia [far right in photo]. His primary role on jackass 3 and 3.5 as a Segment Producer was to log (and make sense of) all the footage that came back from the frontlines of filming*—a tedious, eyeball-straining, soul-numbing job that he basically could have done in his sleep compared to what he normally does for a professional living. You see, Robert's a writer. A real one! He's penned the screenplays for Halloween H20: 20 Years Later and the TV mini-series 5ive Days to Midnight. Most recently, however, he's swerved off into the publishing world with a graphic novel entitled Expiration Date, which solidly debuted at WonderCon a few weeks ago. Congratulations, Robert!

The story, in my own hacked scrotum sack of words, is set in the future, where health technology has enabled everyone to live long—so long—leading to a critically overpopulated world. One technology begets another and the population is given an implant that will randomly determine an individual's "peaceful" expiration date. Anyone remember the old "Community Math" days on jackassworld.rip? Those were always great fun to genetically add up. Well, that was then, this is now, and there's no longer any sort of community gene pool of avatards to go fishing in. So it's all about the celebrities these days. Patrick Swayze and Chris Pontius was a no brainer—straight up DNA TNT. This one, however, trivially goes where no esoteric has gone before: Theodore "T.C." Calvin of Magnum P.I. fame v. Sterling "Steelo" Brim of Ridiculousness. Survey say what?

Sorry for what appears to be some big fat confusion last week, but I was just going by what MTV gave me to embeddably work with. So if you missed last week's debut episodes from Season 5 of Rob Dyrdek's Fantasy Factory dreamcapades, then you best toddle on over to its home site on mtv.com where you can find them in full (primarily Episode 2 in which bullish guest appearances are made by Johnny Knoxville and Chris Pontius). Normally I'll avoid humping the meme train, but I'm only really posting this for the benefit of Jeff Tremaine in memory of all the years we spent working together on Big Brother skateboard magazine. So if you don't get it, don't worry. Those who know, know. Those who repeat, repeatedly offend (recidivism if you want to raise some Arizona about it). And those from Crailtap who wielded the hammer here, by god they hit the nail square on the head. This brings back so many fond memories of ridiculous arguments that I can hardly hold back the tears of nostalgia...

a fantasy factory tour with rob dyrdek

When a production goes five seasons deep—so deep—the offices and sets of said production get equally deep. More personnel, more props, more penistone, more pestilence—okay, maybe not that much more pestilence, but everything in general really is of an exponential nature. Take jackass for instance. Season 1 in 2000 was all shoestrings, shitlips, and jock straps. But by Season 2 in 2001, we'd acquired a Guch, a JxPx, and quite a number of half-assed toy horse creations. Two movies later and all of a sudden industrial-sized red rockets and wrecking balls were clogging the hallways, pocket ass and dildo combos were clogging the toilets, and male undergarment selections were now categorized and stacked in storage bins. So come along and bask in the sheer wonder and awe of Hollywood physics as Rob Dyrdek takes you behind-the-Fantasy-Factory-scenes on a pint-sized tour that Hervé Villechaize would've given two thumbs up.

If there is a patron saint of marketing and his name just happens to be St. Madison of Avenusia then I'm fairly certain he considers the cityscape of Los Angeles to be his preferred dumping ground of choice. I've been a lot of places in this world but have yet to see anything that rivals the spray of marketing diarrhea that coats every available space in this city. Yeah, sure you get your occasional bout of highly concentrated Piccadilly and Times Square blow outs, but for sheer urban coverage I have to give it to LA. We've certainly done our duty in the past, what with the various jackass movies and the Big Putsch behind the last foray into the third dimension (see here and here), not to mention the late, great, gr-r-r-r-andiose prank of Johnny Knoxville's on Jeff Tremaine and Dimitry Elyashkevich (all aboard!), so it's with great pleasure that we share our latest skyline scat with the impending release of Loiter Squad on Adult Swim. By the way, Vanna, I'd like to buy a U for far less than the cost of a bottle of Johnnie Blue.

some ridiculousness with street bike tommy

If you're following Rob Dyrdek on Twitter then you know that the second season of Ridiculousness is in full shooting swing right now. They've had guest stars aplenty flowing through the production bay doors, but here's one that's real special and near and dear to our ROYGBIV* hearts: Street Bike Tommy of Nitro Circus fame. Now I know the following about Tommy but perhaps you don't—the man loves meat. Straight up. No GMO. No vegetables for that matter either. Or bread. Condiments ... possibly. But it's the slabs that really do it for Meat Plate Tommy. He's got mad digestive love for the flesh. One-hundred-and-ten-percent pure undiluted brotein for the protein; in other words, all the better to fortify his stunt body to fly through, into, or beyond whatever it may possibly be aimed at, including but not limited to a lubed bowling alley of hot dudes.

I may be entirely alone in this what with the age discrepancy and all, but does anyone else think that Anthony Ray may have been partially influenced my Mister Mxyzptlk when he came up with his Sir Mix-A-Lot music moniker? I know it's an anaconda of a longshot, but maybe some dipshit will still add it to Wikipedia, thus making it so for all future misintents, mispurposes, and flagrant factual misuses.

My friend Al D sent me this photo of Patrick Swayze the other day and asked me to forward it to Pontius. He also asked if Chris would consider getting highlights to match the look of Swayze in this picture. I forgot to ask Pontius about the highlights, but I did get him to pose with the pic when he came over last night. How about that likeness?! Too bad Patrick Swayze passed before we could convince him to shoot a scantily clad bit with ol' Party Boy. Two sex gods like that on the screen at the same time there wouldn't have been a dry pair of underpants in the whole theatre—including mine!

Begosh, begorrah* and blastoma. I'll forever be thankful for our trip to Dublin, Ireland in November 2010 during our jackass 3 "victory lap"/jackass 3.5 "working vacation" through Europe and the UK—and not just because someone thought it would be funny to play the old switcheroo** on us at the premiere after party. No, mainly it was because it allowed me to stock up on photos of Wee Man dressed up as a leprechaun for at least 10–12 more St. Patrick's Days to come. So, if you've got a touch of the Irish, or you've ever had a drop of the Irish in you, on you, or dribbling down your chin or pant leg, we salute you, your pint of Guinness, and the Blarney stone you kissed in upon. Slainte!

* Not to be confused with Hedorah, the infamous smog monster of Japan.

** The women were not what they seemed. Or at least they were prior to midnight. Then someone pulled the rugs out from under us and transposed them with transgenders. Tuck 'em if you got 'em!

roger alan wade in austin, texas, this weekend

Hey everybody,

Roger Alan Wade will be appearing at SXSW this weekend in Austin, Texas.

He's playing The Saxon Pub at 7:30 tonight, March 16th; The Continental on St. Paddy's Day at 11:40am; and finishing up at The Mean Eyed Cat on Sunday, March 18th at 7:00pm.
