Odds are you're not like me and never wanted to be like me—I sure as shit do not have Michael Jordan's ups—so you probably already know the score with Lil Jon. That said, let's pretend I didn't just peek at his Wikipedia dossier to learn his real name is Jonathan Smith, he was born January 27, 1971, and he's an American Grammy Award winning rapper, music producer, entrepreneur, and international DJ. (Well, don't that just beat the crunk now!) Whatever, we all have our rocks to bear in life and mine has always been living beneath one of an unnaturally large proportion and weight when it comes to pop-culture. For better or worse, I was always drawn more to unpop-culture and its far seamier backwaters (I wouldn't exactly call John Waters a role model—it's hard to aspire to such great lows—but he certainly was a beacon of hope). Oddly, though, for all its kinks, this life pursuit of ill repute has circuitously lead me round the bend to the other side of the playing field ... kind of like it has for Mr. Waters, too, which might make for a most curious portrait of America were Norman Rockwell still alive and painting today. To that end, Ridiculousness premieres tonight on MTV at 10:00pm ET/PT.
P.S. Don't forget that whole promotional tweet brigade that will be going down before and during the premiere with Rob Dyrdek, Steelo, and Chanel. Details here.
