I don't know if I ever properly thanked Ken Block before, but I'd like to now: Thanks, Ken! Only reason I say that is because when Ken and his formerly gold tooth were at the formal helm of DC Shoe Co. USA, he put together these two "Eurosupertours" in 1997 and 1998 that were some of the most lavish and ridiculous skateboard tours I'd ever had the opportunity to tag along on while working on Big Brother skateboard mag. Each tour spanned about two-and-a-half weeks and consisted of four distinct country stops (between the two we hit England, Sweden, Holland, Switzerland, and Germany with a mid-tour "vacation" in France). Accommodations were all top-notch, as was transportation, and Jeff Tremaine unfailingly provided all late-night entertainment—but that's all that was expected of him in the first place, what with his primarily being the art director on the mag. Many ridiculous nights abroad were had, all of which were documented in depth in words, photos, and video. In fact, some of this footage (which was prominently featured in the Big Brother skateboard videos) probably would have made it onto Ridiculousness had Ridiculousness existed back then—in which case Rob Dyrdek would have been scathingly critiquing his own caught-on-video performances in a potential Terminator
-like time loop conundrum. Actually, it wouldn't even be close to a conundrum but more like a cornucopia, and I really only say that because I like good, hard, polysyllabic C-words. Anyway, tonight's all-new episode of Ridiculousness airs at 10/9 C on the MTV.
